赛珍珠与中国文化关系的研究资料小识

赛珍珠接受诺贝尔文学奖时所作题为《中国小说》的演讲,只是她介绍中国文学、中国文化许多演讲或发表的许多文章的一篇。最近发现她1930年发表在《金陵光》上的英文论文“中国早期小说的起源”以及她在北京华文学作演讲和生活两个月的情况的有关资料。中美三所与赛珍珠有关的大学拟联合出版这些材料。

Pearl S. Buck and Her Papers and Speeches on Chinese Novels

Pearl S. Buck's Nobel Prize address "Chinese Novels" is only one of her many essays and speeches intended to bring Chinese literature to the readers and audiences in the West. One of her earliest attempts was the recently discovered paper she contributed to the University of Nanking Magazine in 1930. This and some other documents found recently by American scholars, will be the subject of a book to be published jointly by Nanjing University, Randolph-Macon Woman's College and Claremont Graduate University, all of which are Pearl S. Buck associated in one way or the other.
