Before the Revolution of 1911,a great number of students with lofty ideals in Hunan went to study in Japan.Due to the Japanese modern social environment at that time,they obtained modern knowledge and realized how great the sense of the national superiority was.With a strong desire for social reform,they exerted significant influence on the modernization of the education,military affairs, politics and society in Hunan.
