儒家理想人格对现代人格建构的启示

《孟子·告子上》云 :“耳目之官 ,不思而蔽于物 ,物交物 ,引之而已矣。心之官则思 ,思则得之 ,不思则不得也。此天之所与我者。先立乎其大者 ,则其小者弗能夺也。”人是一种能够自做主宰的动物 ,因而人需要有精神生活。一个人如果没有了精神生活 ,没有了精神的支撑 ,就沦为行尸走肉。没有了灵性的行尸走肉 ,只能算是一种“物” ;这种“物”由于丧失了主体性 ,必将被声色利禄等外物所牵引 ,沉溺而不能自拔。现实社会中 ,许许多多的人只知追逐利益和享受 ,不断地在把自己变为一种丧失精神的“物”。寻找精神的家园 ,安顿好自己的心灵 ,是当代人特别是富裕起来的人的当务之急。一个人需要有精神的支撑 ,一个民族更需要有精神的支撑。历史的经验证明 ,没有伟大民族精神支撑的民族 ,是不可能长久地自立于世界民族之林的。在全球化浪潮一浪高过一浪的今天 ,世界上国家和民族之间的竞争越来越激烈 ,文明和文化之间的冲突与兼并日益明显。在西方文明处于强势的现代化和全球化的世界历史进程中 ,中华文明如何振兴和发展 ,中国人在什么样的精神家园里安顿自己的心灵 ,这应当成为每一个中国人都需要思考的问题。中共中央要求全党和全国人民“弘扬和培育民族精神” ,这是一个高瞻远瞩的、具有深远历史意义的号召。

Exploring the National Spirit of Traditional Thought and Culture (a special topic for discussion)

A person needs the support of some spirit, so does a nation. Historical experience proves that a nation without the support of powerful national spirit cannot stand long in the world. Developing and fostering the national spirit has far-reaching historical significance. Theorists should shoulder the responsibility of studying the national spirit of the Chinese nation.
