| 摘 要： | 纽曼的《大学的理想》是西方历史上第一部系统、完整论述大学理想的著作。纽曼在其宗教观念的影响下，进行了对大学目的、性质和范围以及真理观、知识观、自由教育观、理性观的论述，从而形成了具有保守性质的传统古典大学的理想模式。同时强调信仰、道德等精神性事物的宗教根源使得纽曼的大学思想具有更为广阔的哲学视野和更为重要的现代性批判价值。

| Abstract: | Based on a scrutiny of Newman＇ s The Idea of a University, this paper summarizes seven core concepts in this book. By analyzing those concepts, the authors make a complete and deep study of the thought structure characterizing Newman＇ s idea of a university. |
