| Abstract: | Zeng Guofan's multiple and contradictory moral personality were formed in his complex experience and peculiar social surroundings.He advocated morality but attached importance to economy better.He scrupulously abode by tradition but favoured reform.He maintained violence but persued kind heartedness. |
