| Abstract: | This paper examines the historical background of the fact-finding report on the oversea Chinese in Southeast Asia, which was drafted by the Government-General of Formosa under the Japanese rule. It analyzes the viewpoints and the impact of the report on the policy-making of the Japanese government towards the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia. |
