历代象形研究综述

宋元明时期的象形研究可以郑樵为代表,他从不同的角度把象形分为十种、六象、两兼类。清代学者王筠、朱骏声、郑知同等沿袭了郑樵的分类方法;段玉裁把象形分为独体象形与合体象形两大类,这是按照象形字的形体结构所进行的分类,从而改变了宋元明学者按照意义类属分类的方法。现代学者大多把象形字分为两类,或曰独体象形与合体象形,或曰纯体象形与复体象形,或曰象形正例与象形变例。

A summary of studies on pictograph in the past periods

In Song, Yuan and Ming period, studies on pictograph can be represented by Zbeng Qiao, who classified pictograph into ten kinds, six abstract types, and two double kind from different angles. And then this classification was followed by scholars in Qing dynasty, such as Wang Yun, Zhu Junsheng and Zheng Zhitong, and so on. Duan Yucai classified pictograph into alone body pictograph and synthesis pictograph according to physical structure of pictographic characters, thus changed the scholars＇ way in Song, Yuan and Ming period, which was according to the meaning of pictograph characters. Today, most of scholars classified pictographic characters into two kinds, which are alone body pictograph and synthesis pictograph , some- times they are called Simple pictograph and complicated pictograph, or standard form of pictograph and variant of pictograph.
