ZUO Zong-tang's Contributions to the Development of Gansu

ZUO Zong tang developed and constructed the social economy of Gansu in addition to his heavy military and political tasks which he undertook when he governed Shanxi and Gansu and suprevised mulitary affairy of Xingjiang. He earnestly carried out the development in such fields as agriculture, industry , cultural and educational cause and the reconstruction and conservation of ecological environment. The development in the above aspects got the actual results and laid a foundation for the development of modern economy development of Gansu. Studying and summarizing ZUO Zong tang's idea and achievement of developing Gansu is of great use to the development of Western China.
