20世纪“佛教与中国小说”研究论要——以著作类研究为主的学术简史

20世纪初,梁启超在佛学研究中开始注意到佛教文体对中国小说的影响;在文学史著述中,胡适的《白话文学史》出于时代要求与个人兴趣,对佛教文学予以了更多关注;鲁迅的《中国小说史略》则真正、切实地从小说艺术的角度分析了佛教在内容与形式方面对我国小说的深远影响,此书之研究结论多有发凡起例之功。20世纪下半叶,代表着“佛教与中国小说”研究最新进展与较高水平的专著当推张中行与孙昌武二人的同名著作《佛教与中国文学》,孙氏的著作把该领域的研究推向了一个更高的水平。此外,单篇论文方面则以早期的陈寅恪及季羡林等人的文章尤具影响力。

A Brief Study of Buddhism and Chinese Novels in the 20th Century

At the early 20th century,Liang QiChao began to notice the Buddhist text's influence on the Chinese novels.Among the works on literary history,Hu shi's The History of Vernacular Chinese Literature pays much attention on Buddhist literature out of the needs of that era and personal interest;From artistic angle,Lu Xun's A Brief History of Chinese Novels analyzes the fundamental influence of Buddhism has on Chinese novels both in content and form.In the late 20th century,the works representing the latest and high achievement on Buddhism and Chinese novels can be referred to Buddhism and Chinese Literature coauthored by Zhang ZhongXing and Sun ChangWu,which excels in its comprehensive study and criticism.This paper especially takes the works of Chen YanKe and Ji XianLin for study.
