８０ 年代以来到９０ 年代的本世纪末，各国高等教育进行了战后最大规模的一次改革。与战后初期国际高等教育改革相比，其主要特点是：以提高高等教育质量为核心，强调培养基础扎实、知识面宽、勇于创新的面向２１ 世纪的全面发展的综合型人才；以面向社会生产和社会生活为改革方向，使高等教育与社会需要紧密联系；改革高等教育管理体制，增强高校办学活力，提高办学效益；高等教育日益国际化。表现出当代世界性高等教育改革的趋势。

The Tendency of global reform in higher education in the present age

From 1980's to the end of this century a postwar reform of the widest scale in higher education has been carried out in all countries. Compared with the reform of the international higher education at the beginning of postwar period, it has the following characteristics: with the improvement of higher educational quality as its core, the reform stresses training synthetical talented personnel to face the 21st century with solid foundation, wide scope of knowledge and creativity; withfacing social production and social life as its orientation, the reform makes higher education closely connected with social needs; with a reform in the administrative system of higher education;it promotes the vigor and efficiency of universities; and higher education is becoming more and more nternationalized. All these show the tendency of the global reform in higher education in present age.
