| 摘 要： | 约翰.厄普代克是美国当代最重要的作家之一。他的作品主要讲述了美国中产阶级的生活,探讨了性爱、家庭、婚姻和宗教等问题。把他的最为人所知的“兔子”四部曲置于时代背景中进行分析,结合作家的创作初衷,指出厄普代克的“兔子”系列小说包含的丰富社会文化容量使得它堪称研究美国当代社会文化的“断代史”,认同作者宣称的“我的关于普通人的小说有着比历史书更多的历史。”

| Abstract: | John Updike is one of the most important authors in contemporary America.His works mainly tell of life of American middle class,discuss questions as sex,family,marriage and religion.This article analyzed his most famous tetralogy of "rabbit",linking these works to the author's original intention,pointed out that Updike's serialized novels of "rabbit" are of abundant social cultural content and can be regard as the dynastic history of contemporary American social culture,agreed with Updike's declaration that "my novels of ordinary people contain more history than history books". |
