A Discussion on the Changes in the Party's Understanding of the Major Contradictions in the Socialist Society

Correctly understanding the major contradictions in the socialist society is a key issue that may lead to success or failure of socialism. The understanding of the contradictions by the CPC has undergone a zigzagged course: in the beginning a basically correct understanding, then a series of misplays, and finally a correct understanding. The reason leading to its misunderstanding is that the Party did not have a clear understanding of the law of socialism and the socialist construction. To sum up the lessons in this respect is helpful to our deeper understanding of the "three laws" proposed by Jaing Zemin in his "July 1" speech.
