An Exploration of the Living Space of Non-family Intellectual Women in Late Ming Dynasty

In late Ming Dynasty,non-family intellectual women lived in a space clearly different from that of family-based intellectual women.On contrast to the family-based women whose public space was made private,the non-family women＇s private space was made public,which imposed extremely big influences on them.Their living space involved mainly public places like town,neighborhood and brothel,and persons and affairs closely related to them like court officers,scholar fashions and citizen tastes.Their living space was developed on basis on particular backgrounds.Combination of the two elements shaped those intellectual women＇s literary culture,artistic talents,gracefulness and values.
