| Abstract: | This paper studies the pragmatic function of the rhetorical question, holding that in a particular context the strenthening of personal emotional colour forms the special meaning of the rhetorical question and leads to the decrease of its conventional function, and the strength of its pragmatic effect depends on the negative degree of the rhetorical question. |
