顾颉刚先生与考古学

古书辨伪工作是顾颉刚先生毕生致力的事业,他的最终目的则是重建真实的上古史。他并且认识到重建上古史的根本出路在于考古学,只是未及从事相关工作。而时至今日,已出土了大量五帝传说时代的考古资料,通过考古学来重建真实的上古史也已有实质性的开展了。

Gu Jiegang and archeology

Gu Jiegang had devoted all his life to textual criticism of ancient books, and his ultimate aim was to reconstruct an authentic early Chinese history. Gu had also realized that the fundamental way out for the reconstruction of the early history lay in archeology, only he did not have the time to make it. Up to now, there has been large amount of archeological materials on the legendary times of the Five Lords, thus we have made substantial progress in the reconstruction of an authentic early Chinese history through archeology.
