| 摘 要： | 转换生成语法学家认为英语疑问句的生成涉及疑问词的移位,而且从语音、词法、句法及语义等方面来看这种移位具有必然性,但是这种必然性并不代表随意性,疑问词移位时必须遵循经济原则,这样才能保证所生成的疑问句都合乎语法性。这种转换生成的观点有助于更透彻地认识英语疑问句的内在结构。

| Abstract: | TG Grammarians hold the view that the formation of English Wh-questions involves WH movement. Moreover, this kind of movement is inevitable with regard to phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. However, this inevitability does not mean arbitrariness, for WH movement must comply with the economy principle, which guarantees the grammaticality of all the generated English Wh-questions. In a word, this transformational - generative viewpoint helps to know the basic structure of English Wh-questions in a profound way. |
