摘    要:陆羽撰写的《茶经》是中国茶文化的核心典籍,其英译本对中国茶文化在西方世界的传播具有极大的价值。从典籍文化翻译的视角,重点考察美国译者 Francis Ross Carpenter 的《茶经》英译本中关于儒释道等中国传统文化的翻译效果,并对译者英译过程中准确再现原语负载的文化内涵方面存在的得与失进行综合评价,为茶典籍翻译实践提供借鉴,以促进中国茶文化的有效译介和传播。

Abstract:The Classic of Tea written by Lu Yu is an important classic of Chinese tea culture, and its translation is of great significance to the spreading of Chinese tea culture. This paper, from the perspective of culture translation of classics, examines the translation of traditional Chinese culture, such as the ideas of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, based on the English version of The Classic of Tea by Francis Ross Carpenter. The gains and losses of the translation of Chinese cultural connotation in Carpenter’s English version are analyzed through specific examples. It is hoped that this study can provide some reference to the translation of Chinese tea classics and help translators to spread the Chinese culture more effectively in the process of Chinese ancient classics translation.
