元明玉萧女故事演变分析

An Analysis of the Stories about Yu Xiao during Yuan and Ming Dynasties

The love story about Yu Xiao and Wei Gao was popular during Tang and Song dynasties, which was recorded in many literary sketches. Therefore, many opera works about this love story appeared, such as ＂Yu Xiao and Her Two Marriages＂ Zaju from Yuan Dynasty ; ＂Story. of Jade Ring of Wei Feng Xiang Gu＂, ＂ Story of Jade Ring＂, and ＂Parrot Island＂ legends from Ming Dynasty; ＂The Love Story of Jade Ring＂ legends from Qing Dynasty. The evolution of the images of Yu Xiao and Wei Gao in the opera works during Yuan and Ming dynasties was inseparable with the social, cultural background in different periods.
