摘    要:本文针对霍克斯《红楼梦》译本中所采取的归化策略实为"文化霸权"意识的论断,提出后殖民主义理论有其运用的特定语境,文化传播中翻译策略的取舍应根据译文读者适当调整。译者有传播文化的使命,但文学翻译不可作为纯粹的文化宣传之作。不间断而有度的杂合是提高本土文化机体的免疫力,提升自身文化地位的要素。

Abstract:There is a claim that the strategy of DOMESTICATION applied in Hawks' version of The Story of the Stone indicates the cultural hegemony. Against this assertion, this paper points out that the Postcolonialism should be used in certain context. The adoption of translation strategies in cultural communication should be adjusted according to the receptor. Literature translation can not be treated purely as the tool for culture communication. Only the scientific combination of the two strategies can improve the immunity of its own culture as well as the status of culture.
