现代主义作为一种审美现代性是以启蒙现代性对立面出现的,这种冲突的现代性传入中国后,现代性的错位、价值观的背离致使中国文学并不具有西方现代主义的特质.然而西方中心主义和文化相对主义都不能解释现代文学创作的实绩,审美具有自身的现代性.现代美与永恒美都是现代意识的表现和现代形式的建构.中国现代文学本身的现实主义倾向并不能以西方现代主义的标准来衡量,它在积淀中形成了自身独特的文学传统.

On the Artistic Extension of Expressionism in Contemporary Chinese Literature

The paper holds that aesthetic modernism emerged as the counterpoint to enlightenment modernism and that, since its introduction into China, aesthetic modernism has experienced a certain degree of alienation and thus taken on qualities that are distinctively different from what it did in the West. The West-centralism and cultural relativism are not sufficient in explaining the achievements of modernist literature since aesthetics has a modernity of its own. The realist tendency in China's modernist literature, which cannot be accessed using the criteria of western modernism, has formed its own unique tradition.
