| Abstract: | This article compares three versions of Reply to Li Shuyi on the basis of Geoffrey Leech's categories of meaning. The analysis explicates that translators of poetry should comprehend and express not only the conceptual meaning but also the associative meaning, for transference of associative meaning is essential to the artistic spirit of the translated poems. |
