GROW WORK WITH WORK GROUPS |
| |
Abstract: | Group work with work groups was an important part of social group work. Work in and with these groups has fallen into neglect. Several reasons for this neglect may be found in conceptual definitions which have been part of group work. Yet perspectives which derive from work with work groups are essential. What has happened is that these perspectives have been rediscovered by others as they have been abandoned by social work. Often new terms are employed for old concepts. Reclaiming group work with work groups requires attention from the points of view of practice, education, and research. |
