Abstract: | The goal of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) is to assist employees with a host of emotional, behavior, and family problems which interfere with their ability to function optimally on the job (Sussal & Ojakian, 1988). EAP counselors work to quickly identify, assess and resolve employees' problems. Frequently, there are employees, who seek EAP assistance, but are resistant to changing their behavior. The purpose of this article is to propose the use of Brief Counseling (BC) intervention techniques with resistant employees. |
