| Abstract: | Skopos theory is one of the major theories in the Functionalist approaches. Based on this theory this paper is intended to analyze the differences between the Young＇s＇translation and David Hawke＇s translation of the chapter titles in A Dream of Red Mansions and further figure out the＇ different communicative purposes behind the two English versions. |
