摘    要:辰河高腔目连戏将宗教与世俗两种不同的文化融为一体,体现了中国传统文化的本质特征。戏中所蕴含的巫傩文化、灵魂信仰以及民俗生活都是民众的世俗精神的展演,因为它的创造者、表演者、欣赏者都来自于民间,他们的生活本身就是宗教化的世俗生活。辰河高腔目连戏已演变为一种民族性、历时性的活态文化,是湘西辰沅流域民俗生活的文化表象。
