Research on the indication of the regional culture of proverbs in Tongcheng

Tongcheng has a long history and abundant culture in. A lot of proverbs have been born during its long period of production which contain abundant information. The paper explores the living conditions, folkways, and ideas from the perspective of cultural linguistics. The analysis finds that people in Tongeheng value reading, respect ancestors, worship order and modesty, cherish the reputation and advocate self- reliance, with evident regional characteristics. The research is not only helpful to better understanding of Tongcheng culture and further understanding of Anhui culture, but also benefits the prosperity and development of Anhui culture and the construction of a harmonious, learning society.
