语言的模糊性质对社会科学定量型研究的影响

当代社会科学向自然科学借鉴,在很多领域移植了定量型研究这种以精确为特征的方法和技术,这自然有它非常积极的意义。但鉴于社会科学主要是通过语言这个媒介来进行研究,而语言从语义及语用的角度来看都具有一定的模糊性,文章认为应该对社会科学定量型研究的适用度和准确度保持一个客观、现实的期待值。

The effect of vague language on quantitative approach in social sciences

In modern social sciences,people learn from natural science the quantitative approach,which is characterized by its precision,and apply it in many fields. It is undoubtedly of unique significance.But studies in social sciences are mainly conducted by means of language,and the language contains a good deal of vagueness from both semantic and pragmatic views.This paper argues that an objective and moderate expectation should be held towards the applicability and exactness of the quantitative approach applied in social sciences.
