"The Sole Correct Way Is to Formulate the Bible by Itself": Theory of Spinoza's Biblical Hermeneutics

Over a long period of time, the authority to explain The Bible has always been controlled by the Church. In order to correctly explain it, and to eliminate theology＇s prejudice, for the first time Spinoza definitely proposed a universal principle of ＂explaining The Bible in accordance with its history＂ according to the nature- explaining （i. e. to explain nature is to explain the history of nature） technique. He regards this technique as the only accurate way to explain The Bible . At the same time, he concretely analyzed its difficulties and disadvantages. Spinoza＇s biblical hermeneutics not only laid down the basis for latter scientifically explaining The Bible, but also exerted a profound influence on the formulation and development of later hemeneutics.
