| Abstract: | This paper begins with the introduction to the present situation of the increasing old population in China. From the perspective of sociology it then discusses the role that the mass media, especially the TV, should play in this special stage: programs should be produced in accordance with the interest of old people; efforts should be made to be a close friend of old people; interactive programs should be made; scope of programs should be broadened. |
