"比较"和"对比"是两个不同概念的语言学术语,然而在英汉译学著述和翻译教学的科目设置中混淆通用."英汉语言文化比较与翻译"和"英汉语言文化对比与翻译"中的"比较"与"对比",形式与内涵完全相同,性质和目的也没有区别."英汉语言文化比较与翻译"的课程设置受到专家的质疑,与其名目不无关系,故建议以"英·汉翻译语言·文化对比研究"之名目统一术语,确立名称.

In Defense of Comparative Studies of Languages & Cultures of E/C Translation

The two different linguistic terms "contrastive studies " and "comparative studies" which are alternatively misused as "contrastive studies of languages and cultures of English-Chinese translation" and "comparative studies of languages and cultures of English-Chinese translation", results in the "comparative studies of languages and cultures of English-Chinese translation" as an academic course considered motiveless and aimless by some scholars. This paper has proved that "comparative studies of languages and cultures of English-Chinese translation" which is actually the combination of "contrastive studies of languages " and "contrastive studies of cultures" of E/C translation is not only one of the basic main academic courses and majors for the graduates of E/C translation but also a sub-discipline of E/C translation studies.
