A Reflection on The Reform of Intensive Reading--Steps Toward Language Internalization

This paper makes a reflection on thereform of intensive reading through the analysis of teaching principles and approaches, presentssteps toward facilitating language internalization in intensive reading on the basis of the study ofthe feature of foreign language learning processing and empirical findings in teaching. That is, proficiency can be achieved by putting ladders of (1) intensified practice of formulaic expressionsto stimulate the effective transfer from input to intake, and to output; and of (2) focused communication to promote the ability of free communication.
