湛江是全国闻名的对虾养殖出口大市，对虾养殖规模居广东省首位，是中国对虾养殖的主要产区之一．近几年湛江的工业结构正由轻型向重化工业转变，发展临海型重化工业是湛江经济腾飞战略的必然选择，特剐是宝钢湛江钢铁项目的引入，更是坚定了其走临海型重化工业城市的步伐．湛江现有对虾已经成为湛江经济发展的支柱行业之一，在重化工业发展背景下，对虾产业发展面临的问题是不容回避的重要课题．

Zhanjiang is a national famous shrimp farming city, its breeding scale is the first in Guang- dong province, and is one of the main production of shrimp farming in China. Recently, the industrial structure of Zhanjiang is from light to heavy, developing the type of ocean side heavy industry is inevitable strategy for economic take--off in it. Nowadays, the type of ocean side heavy industry city is more stable when Baogang steel project was introduced this year. Zhanjiang shrimp has become one of the pillar indus- tries of Zhanjiang economy, under the background of its heavy industry, developing the shrimp industry is an important issue to the future economic development of Zhanjiang.
