17世纪,文人成为白话小说阅读的最主要阶层,以苏州地区为中心形成了一个广泛的阅读传播网络。白话小说在文人间的人际传播方式主要有:承传、借阅、抄录、赠阅、购买;以苏州文人为中心的人际传播网络包括:以个人活动相贯穿的交游网络、以血缘或姻亲关系为基础的亲缘网络、以读书应举活动为主的学缘网络。

Seventeenth century colloquial novels read and popularized by men of letters——a case study of men of letters in Suzhou area

In the seventeenth century,men of letters became the main group who read colloquial fictions.With the Suzhou area as the centre,there was a wide network of reading and popularizing fictions at the time.The chief means of spreading colloquial fictions among men of letters included inheritance among family members,borrowing,copying,lending and buying.As to the men of letters in Suzhou area,they had such ways of reading and spreading colloquial fictions as through personal communication,kinship network and through scholastic interactions.
