论中国古典学的重建

中国古典学是一个借自西方“古典学”的概念,指研究先秦秦汉时期中国古代文明的学问。古典学的重建是指随着社会形势的变化,打破旧的古典学学术体系、重建新的学术体系的过程。在汉晋前后和唐宋前后,中国历史上曾出现过两次比较重要的古典学重建。19世纪末,中国现代古典学重建拉开序幕。社会变革是这次重建的原动力,疑古思潮的兴起是其诱因,现代考古学方法的引进和出土文献的发现是其基本条件,科学方法的运用是其重要工具。百余年来,中国现代古典学重建取得了巨大成就,正在从自发走向自觉。

On the Reconstruction of Chinese Classics

Chinese Classics,a concept borrowed from the "Classics" of the West,is an academic subject on ancient Chinese civilization before the end of the Han Dynasty.It focuses on the early part of Sinology.By definition the reconstruction of Chinese Classics is the process between the breaking of the old classics system and constructing a new one along with the change of social situation.There have been two important reconstructions of Chinese Classics in Chinese history: the former happened between the dynasties of Han and Jin;the latter,Tang and Song.At the end of the 19th century,the modern reconstruction of Chinese Classics began.The social changes are the root cause of this reconstruction and the trend of doubting the ancient thoughts is its immediate cause.The introduction of modern archaeology and the discovery of unearthed literature are its objective conditions and the scientific methods are its significant tools.In the past century the modern reconstruction of Chinese Classics,the participants of which turn from spontaneous to conscious has made huge achievements.
