| Abstract: | Two primary psychic states of aesthetic appreciation i n ancient Chinese are quietness and freedom. Both the psychic states originated from Zhuangzi and they are the basic psychic conditions for artists' creating. The two psychic states have profound significance for artists' aesthetic appreci ation, art imagination and art expression. Even today they have important theore tical values. |
