| Abstract: | Salome is one of the Oscar Wilde＇s representative works of Aestheticism. The single-act play emphasizes the art of sensual beauty, hedonism and the pursuit of instantism through its gorgeous language, mystical image, and bizarre plot. Not is a pure aesthetical figure alone, the heroine of Salome is entangled in complex ethical issues which failed her to escape from moral condemnation. While reflecting a good many aesthetic prepositions, Salome also embraces the contlicts between aesthetics ideal and morality thus is regarded as the aesthetic experiment of Wilde＇ s plays. |
