Historical Studies of Xixia External Policy

The Xixia Regime formed a skillful and pragmatic external policy which characterized with going after profits and avoiding harm, gaining advantage from both sides during its long-term diplomatic contact, making peaceful association complicated with open hostilities. It is an outcome of the wax and wane of the relative strength between Xixia and other regimes, providing condition for its development and long-term co-existence with the other powers possible when it deeply influenced the then national relations and political situation in the North.
