科举制是古代书院发展的基础和动力

摘    要:探索了科举制与书院发展的历程,认为科举与书院共生、共存、共兴、共衰。科举对士子求学的刺激、中国古代重考不重教的政策、科举考试的政治性、权威性、统一性促进了书院的发展。书院的科举化保证了政府对教育的控制、扩大了统治的基础、传递了主流文化,并保证了教学水平。对书院大师也受科举制约的历史现象作了几点思考。

Abstract:We find that academies and the system of imperial examinations existed, blossomed and declined together by seeking their development in this essay. Imperial examinations stimulated learners to purse their studies; imperial examinations were attached importance in the ancient China; they were endowed with political power, authority and unity. So imperial examinations promoted academies, ensured the regulation of government education, enlarged the basis on governance, passed on main current culture and kept teaching quality. Further more, even the masters upholding academies were restricted to imperial examinations, which is well worth further considerations.
