道德素质指人的道德观念素质和道德能力素质。它不是自发形成的,而是在长期发展中人的自主、自觉、自由的价值构建。在现实生活中体现于人们自身行为规范的自律,具有主体性、崇善性与自律性的特点。作为一种主体的精神自律,道德素质的核心价值取向是崇善尚义。这就有必要对行为规范进行道德调控。“八荣八耻”的社会主义荣辱观,指明了个人道德素质完善的基本内容和要求,是引领个人道德素质提升的指针。

Socialist View of Honor and Disgrace: Goal Orientation in the Elevation of Moral Qualities

Moral quality refers to the quality of personal moral concept and moral ability.It is not spontaneously formed,but stemmed from long term of development of personal self-independence,self-consciousness and free will.The standard of behaviour embodied in personal life experience is characterized by subjectivity,goodness orientation and self-control.As a subjective self-control in the spirit,the core value orientation of moral quality is the upholding of righteousness.Thus it is necessary to exercise moral restraint with standard of behaviour.The socialist view of the "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces" clearly specifies the basic content and requirement for the improvement of personal moral qualities,and thus may be regarded as the guiding principle for the upgrading of individual moral quality.
