| 摘 要： | 战争小说在王韬的小说创作中占有较大的比重，其中绝大多数取材于太平天国战争。学界普遍认为王韬的太平天国战争小说充满了对太平军的“污蔑”，毫无可取之处。笔者认为从小说文本看，王韬对太平军的态度只能算是“攻击”，称不上“污蔑”。王韬的太平天国战争小说除表现了对太平军的“攻击”外，还表现了对官军的谴责及反映弱小者在战争中的悲惨命运。王韬太平天国战争小说的复杂内容体现了他政治思想的矛盾：既想改革又害怕革命。王韬政治思想的矛盾钵现了那个时代知识分子思想的普遍困境。
