论湖南近代反洋教社会动员的乡土性

湖南近代连绵不断的反洋教斗争成为卫道救时的传统乡土社会动员的又一翼;盲目排外、护卫圣道、维护伦常、忠君救主、闭塞迷信、固守陋俗,以及在思想上以封建落后思想甚至迷信乩语来指导,使用原始落后的武器,以乌合之众采取大轰大嗡的打、砸、抢、烧、杀、谩骂和制造讹言等为主要斗争方式,都是反洋教的局限性;反洋教的社会动员被蒙上了一块乡土社会灰头土脸的色布。

ON THE NATIVITY OF SOCIAL MOBILIZATION OF FIGHTING AGAINST THE FOREIGN RELIGION IN MODERN HUNAN

The continuous fighting against the foreign religion in modern Hunan is another branch of social mobilization of the traditional local society for defending traditional moral principles and saving the nation from extinction. The improper means like the blind exclusionism, defending traditional moral principles, being loyal to the throne, unenlightening and superstition, sticking to corrupt customs, the uncomely guiding ideas with feudal, backward and superstitious characters, using the primitive and under-developed weapon, and the unseemly struggle manners like beating, smashing, robbing, setting fire, massacring, abusing and rumoring are the limitation of anti-foreign-religion. So the social mobilization looked gloomy.
