| Abstract: | Li Shu-chang, also called Chun-zai, was born of a scholarly family in Zunyi, Guizhou province. He had ever been a student of famous scholar Mo Zi-si, Zheng Zi-yi, and later a backstage manipulator of Zeng Guo-fan, a high government official. He had ever been appointed counselor of British minister Guo Song-tao, and also been a minister sent to Japan on a diplomatic mission, contributed a lot to Chinese modern diplomatic cause. |
