《华裔学志》的创办及其对中西文化交流的影响

The origination of Monumenta Serica and Fu Jen University

The origination of Monumenta Serica was closely related to the establishment and development of Fu Jen University in China's traditional political and cultural center Peking, where lived a constellation of preeminent Chinese and foreign scholars. The originators of Fu Jen University, namely the American Cassinese Congregation of the Benedictine Order and the Society of the Divine Word adapted to the tide of sinolization of the 20s of the 20th century and achieved much in academic research and publishing by steadfastly supporting the University's cultural development purport which was well embodied in the combination of the indraught of modern western academic cultures and the exploration of traditional Chinese culture. Monumenta Serica was more than an achievement in publishing but also promoted Fu Jen's studies of ancient Chinese culture and enhanced its influence in the international academia.
