Philip Morin Freneau's Influence on the Poets in the Eighteenth Century in America

Philip Morin Freneau,the American revolutionary poet,was the most outstanding American poet in the 18th century.As the transitional poet between Neo-Classicism and Romanticism,he wrote the poetry that were of some romantic characteristics that should be of the poetry of half a century later and influenced the newly-coming romantic poets greatly,which was one of the key reasons he was regarded as "the Father of American poetry".In this paper,a brief introduction was made on his life and contribution,while some objective remarks were given on his writing feature and style.
