The Choice of "Keeping" or "Getting Rid of"--The Reaction of People in the Controversy of Keeping or Getting Rid of Beijing's Wall

In the controversy between keeping or getting rid of Beijing s wall,the reaction of Beijing local people and the grass-roots need to be paid enough attention to.This paper is based on the related letters from people writing to the Planning Department of Beijing in 1957.According to analysis of three ideas on Beijing s wall,it shows the grass-roots different understandings and ideas.It also tells us the people s stand to the important problem under special historic condition.
