中国高校教师职业在21世纪将发生重大变化高校教师将成为自由职业者;职称将不再评定而是聘定;教师总体收入将大增但个体差距拉大;兼职及短期失业将成为习见之事.此种新形势将对高校教师的素质提出更高要求.因此高校教师必须从思想品德、文化知识、智能、心理、体质五个方面人手,全面提高自身素质,方能在新的挑战和竞争中立足并作出贡献.

Perplexity and Challenge

In the coming 21st century, there Will be a great change in the teaching professions of the Chinese colleges: the teaching job will be a free profession; the titles of professional post will not be graded but be appointed; the teachers' total income will be greatly increased but among the individual teacher's income there will be a large difference;part-time job and short-time unemployment will be a common sight. These new situations will set a still higher demand on the quality of the college teachers. Therefore, college teachers must heighten their quality in five aspects: ideology-moral character, lit- eracy-knowledge, intelligence, psychology and physique, in order to rise to the challenge in competition, and make a contribution to our educational cause.
