明清时期镇江地区慈善机构考略

明清时期镇江地区出现了众多的慈善机构和慈善设施，其中既有养济院、惠民药局、漏泽园等慈善机构和慈善设施，也有育婴堂、救生会、清节堂等众多善会和善堂。慈善机构的发展呈现出数量众多、种类齐全、管理明确、成效显著等特点。以地方士绅和商人为主体的民间力量在慈善机构的创建和发展中扮演了重要角色。

The brief investigation to the charitable facilities of the Zhenjiang region in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

There appeared numerous charity organizations and charity facilities in Zhenjiang area during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, which include not only organizations like charity houses for the homeless, charity drugstores,and charity graveyards, but also many Shanhui and Shantang like foundling hospitals, river rescue charity teams, charity house for the widows. These charity organizations and facilities are numerous in number, diverse in kind, clear in management, and effective in operation. Particularly, non-governmental forces headed by the local gentry and merchants have played important role in the establishment and development of these charity organizations and facilities.
