孟子正命论初探

摘    要:孟子虽然信守天命论,但在天命中加入了人意的成份,在宣称人的命运由上天注定的同时,断言人可以通过修身养性来避免意外的变故而达到寿终而正寝。这不仅体现了孟子与孔子对天命的不同理解,而且与尽心知性知天一起构成了孟子主观唯心主义的主要内容。

Abstract:Although Meng Zi firmly adhered to the doctrine of the Destiny by Heaven, he added to it the element of people's interference. While claiming that the fate of people was disposed by Heaven, he professed that people could escape the unexpected harms and reach the natural end of life by means of self-cultivation of spirit and personality. This idea makes Meng Zi different from Confucius in the understanding of the Destiny by Heaven. It forms together with the idea of knowing Nature and Heaven by heart the main component of his subjective idealism.
