| 摘 要： | 成语是各族人民长期以来在语言运用实践中的结晶，也是语言演进过程中不可或缺的精髓，蕴藏着极为细腻的文化传统和特有的生活习性。英语和汉语的成语中经常采用“比喻”这种修辞格，并且其构成情景相当复杂。比较两种语言中的习用性比喻及其设喻情形，有助于确切理解这些成语的意义。
