The Code-switching and the Social and Psychological Motivations

Code-switching,as an intercultural communicative strategy in language activities ,is not only restricted by grammatical rules,but by such social-cultural and psychological factors such as race,sex,age,social position,educational background,as well as security motivation,respect motivation,euphemism motivation,and so on. The paper makes a brief introduction to the Code-switching,and explores the social and psychological factors behind the Code-switching by the analyses of corpus materials.
